A 2.4-GHz Fully-Integrated GaAs pHEMT Front-End Receiver for WLAN and Bluetooth Applications

This paper describes a 2.4-GHz fully-integrated front-end receiver including single-pole triple-throw (SP3T) switch and low-noise amplifier (LNA) with bypass function, which was fabricated in 0.25 μm GaAs pHEMT process. An asymmetrical SP3T architecture is incorporated to enable the operate four modes. The exploration of impedance voltage gain behavior proposed LNA help establish matching network alleviate trade-off between noise figure (NF) performance. In high mode, implemented shows 1.7 dB NF 6dBm input third-order intercept point (IIP3) 20 power drawing 11 mA current from 5 V supply at 2.4 GHz. All output return loss had exceeded 10 fully on-chip network. measured insertion typically 7.5 achieved.
